What it covers

Prequalified WPS (joint details and parameters that may be used without procedure testing) and qualification by testing.
Welder, welding operator and tack welder qualification.
Workmanship, visual and NDT acceptance criteria for statically and cyclically loaded structures.

Key points for fabricators

Common on projects designed to US practice (AISC 360) and in many export markets.
Fillet sizes are given as leg length in AWS practice – not throat thickness.
