Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions new users ask most: models, numbering, welds, permissions, QR codes, languages and clients.

Do we need Tekla licences for everyone?

No. Only the detailers who build the model need Tekla. Everyone else works in the browser: BOM, 3D, drawings and reports come from the uploaded IFC folder.

The BOM shows marks with “(?)”. What happened?

The model was exported with outdated numbering. Run Numbering in Tekla, export again and re-upload. See the IFC export checklist.

Where do weld sizes come from?

The IFC has no welds. PEB Studio detects weld locations, types and lengths from the geometry; sizes are completed from the drawings in the weld register.

Can a worker scan a QR code and see prices?

No. A QR code carries no rights. The person must sign in, and the server shows only what their permissions allow; prices are filtered on the server.

Why can't I confirm this stage?

Either a previous stage is not finished or it is waiting for QC. Completed is not the same as QC passed – see production statuses.

Why can't this component be packed?

Only components that are fabricated, QC-released, coated and not on hold are eligible. The selection screen shows the reason for each ineligible component.

Can we send documents in the client's language?

Yes. Client packing lists, shipping marks and packing reports are available in 19 languages; extra languages are drafted by AI and must be reviewed before release.

Can clients follow their project?

Yes – through the client project page, periodic report links, share links with expiry and PIN, or a client account limited to their own projects.

Is there a training environment?

Install the demo data under System → Demo data: a complete sample project with production, QC, welds, packing and containers, all tagged DEMO.
