Create an optimised cutting plan

Set sheet sizes, bar lengths and scrap-reduction levers, then check scrap against the 3 % target.

For: Engineering · Cutting shop · Procurement 5 steps 5 min read Advanced
  1. Step 1

    Open cutting plan settings

From the project, open Cutting plans → Settings.

  2. Step 2

    Set stock sizes

Choose sheet sizes (1500/2000 × 6000/12000 or custom sizes by thickness), bar lengths (6000 / 12000), kerf, edge trim and splice rules (max. 1 splice per part).

  3. Step 3

    Switch on the levers

Enable the material-saving levers: true contours from the IFC, pairing parts turned 180°, sheets cut to length, slit strips, remnants from stock and smart optimisation.

Tip Remnants above the minimum size (plates ≥ 300×300, bars ≥ 1000) are returned to stock and not counted as scrap.
  4. Step 4

    Run and review

Run the optimisation and review plates by thickness and sections by cutting pattern. Groups that meet the 3 % scrap target are shown in green.

  5. Step 5

    Download machine files

Download the combined PDF for the operator and the Bodor DXF (ZIP) with nested layouts and single parts for BodorCAM / CypCut.

Tip Set cutting sequence, lead-ins and kerf compensation in the CAM software. Splice positions must be approved by the designer.
